The Young Republic: Basic Facts
- Group of eight musicians (5 guys, 3 dolls)
- Compositions are based for the most part in the American Folk and Rock N’ Roll traditions
- The overall sound (through arrangement and orchestration) makes use of the following styles: classical (Baroque to Modern), traditional country, jazz, modern rock,French street music, 50’s and 60’s pop, show tunes, electric blues
- The pop music of the 60’s is the biggest influence on the group
- Signed to End Of The Road Records
- Debut Album “12 Tales From Winter City” is released in 2008
- All eight members met in Boston in 2004
- They are relocating to Nashville in January 2008
- The group has toured extensively through out the United States over the past three years and last summer they ventured to England for two successful tours including slots at the Glastonbury Festival, End Of The Road Festival, a support tour for My Brightest Diamond and a live appearance on BBC radio
