NEW TOWN KINGS

New Town Kings are a 10 piece Ska/Reggae band from Colchester, Essex.

Formed late 2004, they set about perfecting their sound before hitting the live circuit in December 2005. Since then they have been gigging extensively in many venues up and down the UK, quickly gaining a fanbase of ska lovers and turning ska virgins on to the off beat.

New Town Kings take influence from many acts, here are a few of them…

The Maytals, The Skatalites, Sugar Minott, The Big, The Wailers, Scratch Perry, The Specials, UB40, The Slackers, King Django, Burning Spear, The Beat, Pete Tosh, Sublime, and many many more.

Between gigging and sleeping they’ve also found time to record their debut album ‘SOUND OF THE NEW TOWN’ which is now being distributed through DO THE DOG MUSIC.
